About Marlenda Clark

Marlenda Clark From my earliest years, I always had a camera in my hands, taking pictures of people and my surroundings everywhere I went. My love for photography began to really take shape when I took a photography course in college for one of my electives and decided to enter a few of my photographs in the local country fair, where I received a third place ribbon for one. However, the thought of being a professional photographer seemed just beyond my reach, although that never stopped me from taking pictures...and LOTS of them. Through the years, I challenged myself to take pictures that tell stories. The stories range from what life used to be like to the hopes of the future, while others tell of the majesty of God through His creation. In 2012, I decided to enter some of my pictures in the annual photo contest held by my employer that was open to over 20,000 employees nationwide and published in the spring edition of their quarterly magazine. Although I did not place in any of the categories I entered, this did not deter me from continuing to enter. In 2014, I received an Honorable Mention for one of my photographs, and in 2015, the corporate marketing department requested that I submit photos from our division to be included in a special edition of the company's quarterly magazine to commemorate 120 years in business. In 2016, as a guest to the wedding of the daughter of a family friend, I took a few pictures of her special day. The images I captured ignited a desire to be able to create passionate images of the special events in others lives. A year later, I had the opportunity to capture memories of a dear friend's wedding as her "unofficial" photographer. In May of 2018, I had the honor of photographing a co-worker's wedding as her official photographer. In February 2019, I finally decided, after years of encouragement by my husband and family, to officially become a professional photographer.
